Gruntlers
Heathens believe in Truth, Beauty and Freedom. Perhaps, this is why we feel a political affinity with Humanists. In any case, our faith inspired "A Happening With The Gruntlers" at the Poetry Cafe last Monday evening; an event celebrating these essential values.

The Bears’ Truth
Windows and followed dogs
Whisked pudding legs of
Shimmer and daze pearlescent
And fish in dreams added
Cherried creams and
Irish jigs for pleasant
Logging cats on window panes
And scratchy tunes all violet
Made corn and syrup glimmer fair
And solid bears all fusty snuff
Caught the winds of crusty and
Fought the trees of laden bees
With might and truth inviolate
And the Great Snore of wilden things
Fought his way to sleepy things and
On his way he found a sound
Better than his snorey sound
It yickered in the bosky places and
Promised much for foxy faces
Foxy faces, whiskerings and
Night time moons and underthings.
