Honour, not success, is the principle virtue in the life of a man: a European ethical value dangerously lacking in our Post-Christian society and the cause of so many moral, as well as financial problems.
I agree, all financial problems are subjectives reasons to find out what we realy search, once you completly know your objectives and what is realy important in your life, you will havent financial problems any more, just material adaptations to be confortable in the mean time.
Honour - a concept to be found in the old celtic civilisations, in ancient Rome, in the fjords of Norway and in the fields of Saxony - all those people contribute to the English story.
Shame is imoportant. It is an all encompassing feeling that an Englishman or indeed any north european feels when he has committed an act that is dishonourable.
Those without the concept of honour feel fear when discovered doing something that the honourable person would find shameful.
Those without honour can feel only a craven guilt at discovery. Unlike those who adhere to a code of honour, the merely guilt-ridden do not feel shame.
Fear creates a poisonous atmosphere in which only pointless guilt will thrive.

Her names overwhelm
the corruption of time
Whispered
by the gentle arabesque
of demonic wings
that beat in obscene reverence
at feminine dominion

On guilt:

Fear is the death of honour.
